Does anyone know what happened with this thread? Has anyone else been using this breath-holding technique with success? Can anyone point to any other information available anywhere? I've searched all over and can't find anything written about it for middle distance training. Sounds quite interesting and theoretically plausible but just wondering about its success for non-elites. After all, cruz and decker had the kind of talent mere mortals lack so One really cannot judge the training effect by them alone.

Wasn’t it Andrew147 who started this. I know of a training session which Andrew147 carries out with some of his athletes which I have carried out with some of my runners at our club. I must state the athletes at my club who compete over 800m have significantly improved over the last 4 months. Obviously the session includes holding your breath.
